Beauty in Ordinary People

An ongoing photographic series started in 2011, stemming from Barranquilla, Colombia that explores lifestyle portraiture of ordinary street vendors.

With this series, I set out to capture the magnitude of grace and resilliance that can be found in ordinary people. Shot in 35mm film, my goal with this project continues to be changing the outside lens of Colombia by showing everyday people who work honest jobs; as a juxtaposition to the media's portrayal of Colombia as a hub of violence and narcotics culture.
